MANUAL MACHINIST

A FIRST CLASS MANUAL MACHINIST MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS PREFERABLY 

• Sets up and operates production type equipment to machine components to shop order requirements.
• Operates assigned machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Performs scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Performs housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Responsible for notifying supervisory personnel if a nonconforming condition exist.
• Performs other duties as directed by management personnel.
