The Department of Physical Therapy at Baylor University is home to a 2-year hybrid DPT program and an orthopedic physical therapy residency, with terminal degree programs in the initial stages of development. We are seeking an innovative faculty member to join our growing department in meeting its mission to advance societal health through innovative education, connection, leadership, and inquiry in physical therapy. The Department of Physical Therapy is fully hybrid, with faculty and staff who live across the United States. Faculty may live and lead remotely but must be willing to travel to Waco, TX for designated periods of time.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching entry-level DPT students in areas of expertise, coaching/mentoring graduate students, and engaging in research and institutional and professional service. Applicants with a background in innovative teaching and learning, who have experience collaborating remotely with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff, and who are interested in novel solutions for research productivity in a hybrid environment are encouraged to apply.
The University:

Baylor is also on the honor roll of the "Great Colleges to Work For" from The Chronicle of Higher Education; Baylor offers competitive salaries and benefits while giving faculty and staff the chance to live in one of the fastest-growing parts of the state. Our strategic plan, Illuminate, guides the University as we continue to live up to Baylor's mission of educating men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community.
Qualifications:
Required:
A doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT, tDPT) and teaching expertise in cardiopulmonary physical therapy and/or physiology are required. The candidate must exhibit a collaborative working style (strong communication and interpersonal skills) with faculty and students and model a philosophy consistent with the Department of Physical Therapy’s vision and values, and Baylor University’s Christian mission. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred:
Special consideration will be given to candidates who have a terminal doctorate (e.g., PhD, DSc, EdD), board certification as a cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapist, demonstrate a well-established scholarly agenda and publication record, as well as to those that are active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
