- Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and five years of IT management, supervision, and support in a Microsoft Active Directory Enterprise Environment; or high school diploma/GED with at least seven years of experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable experience as a technical IT staff Manager or Supervisor; experience leading enterprise projects and initiatives; proven experience administrating physical and virtual PC hardware and software in a Microsoft Active Directory enterprise environment.
Experience with packaging and deploying operating systems and applications with Microsoft Endpoint Manager is desired, development and deployment of Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy Objects is desired and experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) using VMware Horizon View is desired.
An ideal candidate will have strong project management, multitasking, communication (verbal & written), coordination, delegation, project tracking, service request, and helpdesk skills.
An ideal candidate will have advanced level skills for Windows and Intel based desktop, laptop and tablet PCs; advanced level skill at supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems in a Microsoft Active Directory enterprise environment; advanced level skill at supporting Microsoft Office applications; strong knowledge of standard networking services such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory and print servers; a strong knowledge of IT security principles; ability to adapt to a constantly changing workload with multiple levels of priority.
Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. - Duties

Chesterfield County is looking for an experienced working manager to provide supervision to highly technical PC support staff.
An ideal candidate will provide leadership and supervision to PC support staff in the analyzing, planning, design, and direction of hardware and software for county departments and provide technical information and assistance to staff and customers; research and evaluate new technology products to provide guidance to staff and customers; review, monitor and direct the upgrade of existing PC computer systems; provide project management for large technology requests; develop and maintain a superior staff of PC support personnel to meet the county’s demand for end user computing.
