The Times Media Co. has an opportunity for both a Day Shift and Night Shift Insert Supervisor at our Munster, IN location. This full-time, hourly position requires a team player who will operate and maintain the Packaging Department's machines. Responsibility to coordinate with Packaging Manger departmental inserting and press activities and maintain accurate records to document and analyze daily production.

Position Responsibilities
- Ensuring packaging department equipment is fully operational at all times, including, but not limited to, SLS 2000 inserting machines, stackers, strappers and conveyors
- Setting up the inserting machines for runs and making adjustments to the machines if they are not running properly
- Ensuring to correct inserts are loaded into the newspaper and maintain a high level of quality for all products produced
- Leading a group of employees running the machines and training employees on safe operations of equipment as well as being an active team member during production runs
- Ensure complete adherence to all departmental and company procedures including but not limited to housekeeping, appropriate use of equipment and tools, proper equipment repairs and follow-up with maintenance until problems are resolved
- Working in accordance with established safety practices
- Searching out opportunities for improvements that can be made
- Must posses good mechanical aptitude and ability
- Have the ability to work independently, analyze situations and conditions and implement solutions while meeting deadline
- Good hand eye coordination required with the ability to more and each around the machinery
- Good concentration with attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow and give directions
- Have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all personnel
- Previous experience in a packaging department of a mailroom is preferred
- Willing to train the right candidate with solid mechanical aptitude and machine experience
