Circulation & Intercampus Loans Specialist
General Description:
Provides circulation and basic reference services (automated and print) to students, faculty/staff and other library patrons and provides other special library services such as intercampus loans, interlibrary loans, serials, overdues and reserves management.
Duties and Tasks:
- Manages major services at the library’s circulation desk using specialized
computerized equipment and demonstrating knowledge of circulation policies and procedures; acting in a lead decision-making capacity, provides all circulation services to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons. - Answers directional and basic reference questions demonstrating knowledge of reference interview skills
- Answers telephone call and redirecting call to the appropriate department or staff member
- Accurately records daily circulation/library usage statistics
- Opens and closes the library on assigned days
- Responsibly performs all opening/closing procedures
- Capably handles building, equipment, and patron emergencies by following college and library procedures and contacting appropriate personnel
- Performs all aspects of the NVCC Intercampus Loan and Hold Requests services

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or combination of related library experience and education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Library circulation and reference experience
