Overview
Africa World Initiative (AW) seeks an experienced and committed professional to join its office. The Program Coordinator will work under the leadership of the Director and the Assistant Director of AW to support and organize workshops, lectures, symposiums, networking receptions, conferences, forums, and other events designed to increase the profile of Africa and African Research on and beyond the campus. The Program Coordinator will also support and manage AW communications, web updates, and publicity. The primary purpose of the position is to provide AW events with excellent service while creating awareness of programing, research, and events around campus. The wide-variety of tasks will provide the Program Coordinator with a unique opportunity to positively impact a broad range of new programs and amplify the services offered by the African World Initiative.
Responsibilities
Coordinate workshops, meetings, lectures, symposiums, receptions, conferences, forums, and other events.
Manage AW internal and external communications and correspondences, web updates, social media platforms and publicity; manage program calendar and schedules.
Coordinate AW, PAS, Princeton in Africa, PASA, and other Africa-related initiatives and programming on campus.
Qualifications
Basic ability to manage website and social media (twitter, instagram, facebook, linkedin) platforms.
Events management experience; international program coordination in academic or equivalent institutions; relevant knowledge about Africa and/or the Global South.
