SCCS currently has multiple openings for Child Welfare Caseworkers - Intake.
Starting Salary: $24.00/ hr.

Child Welfare Caseworkers play a crucial role in building upon the strengths within a family to
help them create or maintain a stable and nurturing home for their children. The caseworker’s
goal is to safeguard the well-being of children while empowering families. In doing so, the
caseworker assesses family situations, intervenes to the extent necessary when child safety is
at risk, and collaborates with community resources to strengthen families. Time is spent visiting
family and foster homes, collaborating with community providers, gathering information,
attending court hearings, completion of assessment tools and case documentation.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal
Justice, Child and Family Development, Human Development and Family Studies, or other
human services-related field is required for this position; and

Two (2) years casework experience in public child welfare, mental health, or family services
agency is preferred.

A valid Ohio Driver’s License with no more than six (6) points and use of an insured vehicle are
required for this position.
