Independent Living Specialist

Summit Independent Living is taking applications for an Independent Living Specialist. This is a career opportunity for the right person with a solid background in social work or human services and a passion for working with people of all ages with disabilities. This is a 40 hours per week, non-exempt position. This is not a remote position; it is based in Summit’s Hamilton office.

Primary responsibilities of this position include one-on-one work with individuals to assess current needs, provide information and referral, conduct individual skills training, facilitate workshops, support individuals to secure benefits, services and community resources appropriate for their needs and work as a team member to conduct advocacy, outreach, and public education activities.

The starting hourly wage for this position is $19 per hour, DOE. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, 401 (k) plan with employer match, flexible spending plan, paid holidays, generous personal allowable leave for vacation and sick days, and long-term illness leave.
