POSITION TITLE: Level Up Navigator
REPORTS TO: Level Up Program Director
ACCOUNTABLITY: Community Impact Team
STATUS: Full-time, 40 hours/week, some weekend and evening hours required. Exempt position with benefits.
WORK STYLE: Hybrid- may include up to 20 % local travel, some weekend and evening hours may be required to meet clients. Must have proof of car insurance.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Level Up program is an initiative focused on supporting struggling, working residents on the path to long-term financial stability. The navigator will lead client engagement to help participants successfully complete the program and achieve their goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with client recruiter and program coordinator to successfully onboard clients.
- Help clients set and achieve goals. Guide and support clients through program.
- Meet with clients a minimum of once per week to discuss status of work, training/education, budget, childcare needs, basic needs and other family needs as applicable. If in need of assistance, assist in locating and accessing.
- Refer clients to community services as needed (rent/mortgage, food, mental health supports, etc.).
- Work with financial wellness navigator to assure clients complete all financial education, such as budgeting and achieving goals around saving.
- Help clients research and identify the appropriate education/job training to meet personal and financial goals as needed.
- Complete all assessments and touchpoints in a timely manner; log all assistance, goals and assessments in casework management system.
- Provide weekly status reports to Level Up Program Director.
- Work with the team to develop and attend Level Up client meetings.
- Work with key workforce development organizations and local service providers.
- Work cross-functionally with other staff members and departments to execute all assigned tasks.
- Represent organization at organization and community events as needed.
- Other duties based on client need or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a client-facing, social work or customer service role, case management experience a plus.
- Problem solving & critical thinking skills; ability to handle ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Ability to self-manage, work in a fast-paced environment, and establish strong internal and external relationships.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, online meeting platforms (i.e. Zoom) and web platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Detail-focused, strong cross-functional project management skills, and ability to handle multiple projects/responsibilities at once.
- Flexible schedule, need availability on some evening or weekend hours.
- Preferred:
- Possess a working knowledge of service providers, including State, Federal and Local assistance.
- Knowledge of Northwest Indiana communities and their unique characteristics, demographics & needs.
- Established relationships with communities and/or community stakeholders. Desire to continually learn and improve and the ability to provide and accept feedback.

COMPENSATION: $48,000 to $50,000
