Job Summary

Landscape and maintenance seasonal employee at the Taft Nicholson Center in Lima, Montana. Services will only be required starting May 5th and ending October 15 2024.

Uses advanced level trade skills for repairing and maintaining building components and structure. Maintain a safe working environment. Follow written and verbal instructions to the satisfaction of building occupants and supervisor. Must be comfortable in extremely remote setting, and able to spend the season in Montana.

This position is benefited but is only temporarily funded through October 15th, 2024.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:


-Performs carpentry work in constructing repairing or installing countertops, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building frames and trim.

-Performs painting work by preparing the walls, doors, and exposed surfaces for painting and by painting those areas using any combination of brushes, rollers or spray guns.

-Repairs and maintains various parts of buildings by applying the necessary procedures and construction specialties in fixing floors, windows, ceilings, etc.

-Accomplishes a variety of finishing work by trimming, fitting and repairing windows, doors, sheet rock, moldings, baseboards, paneling; finishing surfaces and joints with sandpaper, attaching hinges, catches and locks;

-Perform plumbing and electrical duties by removing p traps to unclog drains, install switch and outlet covers, etc.

-May create work assignments for maintenance mechanics and maintenance workers and follows up on assignment to ensure that work was completed properly and on time.

-Basic wiring, sheetrock, finishing

Minimum Qualifications

Four years relevant work experience in the applicable trades areas or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated knowledge of national, state and local building codes and standards; ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and be able to make mechanical sketches and drawings; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Requires lifting and transporting heavy objects. A valid Utah Driver's license may be required.

Preferences

One-year relevant work experience in the applicable trade areas and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.

Self-starter able to schedule time efficiently and follow detailed instructions, generally computer literate.

Familiar with landscaping, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.

One year's verifiable experience in the building maintenance field.
