Job Description Summary
This position performs work in the athletic compliance office to ensure integrity with all NCAA, ACC and Wake Forest University (WFU) rules and regulations, primarily concentrating in financial aid. Responsible for evaluation, development, and administration of appropriate systems to maintain institutional control of the athletics program. Works directly with Sr.
Associate Athletics Director for Compliance in all areas of NCAA, ACC and WFU compliance including, but not limited to providing education, establishing, and reviewing monitoring systems, following policies and procedures, and enforcement of rules and regulations.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Directs the awarding of all aspects of athletic financial aid awards for WFU student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, ACC, and WFU rules and policies/procedures.
- Serves as the primary athletic compliance liaison to the WFU Athletic Business Office.
- WFU Office of Financial Aid, and WFU Student Financial Services Office for financial aid and student accounts.
- Prepares appropriate information, as needed, to WFU coaches and staff related to non-athletic financial aid awards, student-athletes' eligibility for athletic or non-athletic financial aid awards, cost of attendance information, athletic scholarship projections per sport, countable and non-countable financial aid, and updates NCAA squad lists for certification.
- In partnership with the WFU Office of Financial Aid, provides information for the renewal, non-renewal, and cancellation of athletic scholarship awards under NCAA rules and WFU policies and procedures.
- Prepares all monthly athletic stipends for student-athletes in partnership with campus liaisons.
- Directs distribution and collection of National Letters of Intent (NLI) and WFU Financial Aid Agreements in compliance with all NCAA, ACC, and University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Manages calculations, as needed, for WFU academic or graduation awards/incentives for student-athletes (if applicable) and assists with reconciliation of award distributions and tracking of award requirements under WFU policy.
- Assists with rules education meetings and materials; conducts research and interpretations of NCAA rules for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and campus liaisons as needed.
- Reviews and updates compliance policies and procedures as needed.
- Assists with educating and monitoring name, image, likeness activities, as needed.
- Assists with NCAA and ACC waivers.
- Builds interpersonal relationships with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and campus liaisons with athletic responsibilities.
- Assists with completion and data review of NCAA annual reports and other reports, as needed.
- Utilizes required software systems as needed.
- Adheres to and enforces all WFU departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the ACC and the NCAA.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and changes related to compliance in intercollegiate athletics.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in a NCAA Division I campus athletics compliance office, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, particularly with athletic financial aid.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability and desire to perform accurate detail-oriented work, strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize tasks as assigned, and maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to understand, comply with, and enforce NCAA, ACC and WFU rules and regulations.
- Ability to foster a cooperative environment with athletic coaches and administrative staff members along with campus partners in various departments.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and response times.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to always display high integrity.
- Must be able to meet the requirements of the University's automobile insurance policy.
- Master's degree or Juris Doctorate and five years of experience in NCAA Division I campus athletics compliance office, or financial aid office as the liaison working with athletics financial aid.
- Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations and FAFSA requirements.
- Experience using PowerFaids, Banner, and Workday software systems.
- Responsible for own work
